OYT Scotland meets Scottish Minister
Volunteers, staff and young crew of Ocean Youth Trust Scotland meet The Rt. Hon. Alex Salmond MSP.

The First Minister invited the group for a tour of the iconic Parliament building and to attend First Minister’s Questions. Talking to the group later over lunch, he was interested to hear how Sail Training benefits young people and the first-hand accounts of Iona Bruce and Lindsay Stephen’s voyages.The Scottish Government, and previously the Scottish Executive, have been valued supporters of adventure under sail in Scotland. This day in Parliament, arranged through OYT Scotland Ambassador Stuart McMillan MSP, was an excellent opportunity to highlight that work. Nick Fleming, Chief Executive of OYT Scotland said, “It’s important that we showcase the excellent work that OYT Scotland does and the positive impact this has on young people’s lives.
